Haydn Baryton Trio Budapest

hbtThe Haydn Baryton Trio Budapest -  Balázs Kakuk (baryton), Anna Magdaléna Kakuk (viola) and  András Kaszanyitzky (cello) - was founded by Balázs Kakuk in 1980 with the intention of reviving Joseph Haydn's almost 200 compositions for baryton - an original instrument of Prince Esterházy Miklós, the Magnificent - performing the pieces in authentic and original instrumentation. The Ensemble plays all the baryton trios of Haydn as well as quintets, octets and the baryton divertimenti of other composers of the Esterházy circle. The ensemble has taken part in film music,  recordings, TV productions, and concert tours worldwide.

 

At the 2012 Festival they will be joined by Slovak virtuosi in performing Haydn's Quintet for baryton trio and horns, and his Octet for baryton trio, strings and horns.We will also hear Barytonalis, wrtiten especially for the trio,and works by Haydn's Esterházy contemporaries.
